Whale Camp Packing List
- A valid passport or original birth certificate (no copies) and photo I.D.
- Bedding: sleeping bag and pillow case or set of twin size sheets and one blanket
- 2 towels
- 1 pair of pajamas
- 2 pairs of shorts
- 3-4 pairs of long pants
- 1 pair of thermal underwear (for boat excursions)
- Swimsuit
- 7 pairs of underwear
- 10 pairs of socks (including a few wool pairs)
- *4 short sleeved shirts
- *4-5 long sleeved shirts
- *2-3 sweaters or sweatshirts (one with a hood)
- Waterproof and windproof jacket
- Waterproof and windproof pants
- Hat that covers the ears
- *Hat with brim to protect from the sun
- Warm gloves
- 3 pairs of shoes: hiking boots (broken in!), closed toe shoes that can get wet, sneakers with good tread
- Day pack (book bag size)
- Toiletries kit with personal care items
- *Water bottle
- *Phone card or international calling card
- Binoculars: Optional
- Camera: Optional - CELL PHONES/IPADS OR SIMILAR DEVICES MAY NOT BE USED FOR PHOTOGRAPHY. CELL PHONES/IPADS OR SIMILAR DEVICES ARE NOT PERMITTED AT CAMP.
- Sun screen and lip balm
- Sunglasses (polarized ones are best)
- Personal books or field guides
- Pens and pencils (we use these daily)
- Spending money: Whale Camp provides three meals a day for campers. Campers will need some money for the trip to and from Bangor (please send small bills). On the island campers may also want a few dollars for souvenirs and snacks. We recommend about $50-$75 per week. All money must be in an envelope to be deposited in the Whale Camp bank.
- Medications: All medications must be separated into pill cases that distribute dosages for the entire time at camp.
- Non-drowsy formula Dramamine (only if approved by parent)

PLEASE NOTE: Whale Camp does not allow electonic games, computers, iPads, etc. or knives, alcohol or tobacco of any kind. Cell phones are permitted, but their use is restricted.
